What You’ll Do
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Firmware Engineering Intern to support our Product Firmware Development team. During the summer, you will gain first-hand experience in a firmware development team, supporting testing of firmware issues and release lifecycle management.
Location: Daily onsite presence at our San Jose headquarters in alignment with our Flexible Work policy
Reports to: Sr. Director
- Support the implementation of firmware development workflows and release lifecycle management processes
- Develop test cases & update a tool for actual product development
- Triage and root cause system, driver and device interoperability issues
- Development and debugging of firmware and software for SSD products
- Debug, optimize & validate/test SSD firmware on embedded multi-core architectures
- Complete other responsibilities as assigned
What You Bring
- Pursuing a BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or software-focused Electrical Engineering
- Must have at least 1 academic quarter/semester remaining
- Familiarity with firmware development concepts and embedded systems
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of C/C++ development for embedded systems, including storage devices and other embedded platforms is desirable
- Knowledge or Experience with ARM or equivalent embedded multi-core microprocessor architectures & experience with JTAG/ICE debuggers & protocol analyzers is desirable
- Scripting experience in one of Python/Perl/JavaScript is desirable
