POSITION: Great Hearts Home Office Intern 

DEPARTMENT: Human Resources

LOCATION: Remote (Phoenix location preferred) 

REPORTS TO: Director of Human Resources

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt, Part-time ($15-16/Hour)

ESTIMATED INTERNSHIP DATES: March 2026 through August 2026

 

Position Summary 

The Great Hearts Human Resources (HR) Intern is a crucial support role to Home Office departments during some of our busiest and exciting times of the year.  As our HR Team works to support campuses in staffing, workforce planning, and generalist HR work, we are seeking support with administrative tasks that will ensure all details are covered. The Human Resources Intern’s work will ensure smooth daily operations. This role is ideal for a student or early-career professional interested in gaining hands-on experience in HR processes, employee support, compliance, and HR systems. The position is temporary and part-time for 10-15 hours (flexible) per week; however, hours may extend during certain weeks. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Screens and responds to email inquiries and makes phone calls to necessary parties including, taking thorough phone messages for later follow-up 

  • Regular data entry and record-keeping, including database maintenance 

  • Support compliance audits by organizing and reviewing personnel files 

  • Assists with other organizational and creative tasks

  • Other duties as assigned 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree (in progress or complete) 

  • Interest/experience in Human Resources.

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel 

  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism

 

Additional Requirements 

Type of fingerprint clearance: Must possess or obtain valid Arizona Department of Public Safety fingerprint clearance card. 

Physical functions: Requires but is not limited to standing, sitting, repetitious hand and body movements, bending, squatting, and reaching. May be required to move or position equipment up to 25 pounds approximately. 

Travel required: May need to travel locally to the various academies within the Phoenix metro area.
