Position Summary

As an Intern, Information Security you will actively engage in high-impact projects that safeguard TriNet's systems and processes.  You will support critical functions that protect TriNet's assets and client data.

What you might do

• Cyber Defense Support: Assist the Cyber Defense team with monitoring, triaging, and responding to alerts from security tools (e.g., SIEM, EDR, vulnerability management systems).
• Vulnerability Remediation: Help track and document the lifecycle of identified vulnerabilities, collaborating with infrastructure teams to ensure timely remediation.
• Threat Intelligence: Conduct research on emerging cyber threats, security technologies, understand adversary tactics, and produce actionable intelligence.
• Risk Assessment Documentation: Support the creation and review of documentation related to technology risk assessments and internal security control testing.
• Access Management: Support the maintenance and auditing of Identity and Access Management (IAM) systems, ensuring adherence to the principle of least privilege.

Education Qualifications

• Junior or Senior undergrad or graduate students
• Minimum 3.0 GPA

Experience Qualifications

• A proactive team player who can work independently and as part of a team.
• Previous internship/work experience preferred
• Academic leadership or extra-curricular activity involvement preferred
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S

Skills and Abilities

• Foundational understanding of networking concepts, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and fundamental security principles.
• Familiarity with data analysis and basic SQL querying.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation or analysis preferred.
• Familiarity with cloud security models (AWS, Azure, or GCP) preferred.
• Strong attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with strong Microsoft Excel skills required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities

The preferred location for this role is Atlanta, GA, and the salary range for this location is $23.00 to $38.00 per hour. All qualified external applicants will be considered for an in-office role, based in Atlanta. All qualified internal candidates are encouraged to apply and consider relocation to Atlanta and may be considered for remote hire at the company’s discretion. The candidate’s final salary offer will be based on the candidate’s skills, education, work location and experience.
