About this role

The Internal Audit Intern supports the Internal Audit Department by assisting with audit planning, fieldwork, and documentation to help ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies. This role provides hands-on exposure to operational, financial, and compliance audits within a fast-paced casino and hospitality environment.

Position Responsibilities

  • Assist internal auditors with audit fieldwork, including walkthroughs, testing of controls, and data analysis
  • Help prepare and organize audit workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation
  • Perform basic testing of transactions, reconciliations, and compliance procedures under supervision
  • Assist with tracking audit issues, follow-up actions, and remediation status
  • Participate in risk assessments and process reviews across operational departments
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial, operational, and employee information
  • Support special projects and ad hoc requests as assigned by Internal Audit leadership

Essential Functions

  • Exposure to casino-related environmental factors including, but not limited to, secondhand smoke, excessive noise, and hectic environments
  • Ability to analyze information, identify discrepancies, and document results accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established audit procedures
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles or internal controls
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional judgment
  • Willingness to learn and take direction in a structured audit environment
  • Prior internship, coursework, or exposure to audit, accounting, or compliance is a plus
