We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Thoracolumbar Fixation product management team. This internship offers hands-on experience in the medical device industry, specifically in spinal implants and instrumentation, while working alongside experienced product managers, engineers, and marketing professionals.
As a Product Management Intern, you will support key initiatives related to market research, competitive analysis, product development, and commercialization strategies for thoracolumbar fixation systems. You will gain exposure to surgeon feedback sessions, sales analytics, and cross-functional collaboration while developing a deep understanding of spinal fixation implants and instruments.
What will your duties and responsibilities be?
Market & Competitive Analysis:
- Research market trends, competitor product offerings, and clinical applications within thoracolumbar spinal fixation.
- Create reports and presentations to summarize key findings.
Product Development & Support:
- Assist in the evaluation of new and existing implants and instruments for thoracolumbar fixation.
- Participate in cadaveric labs and surgeon feedback sessions to gather insights.
- Support the product manager in data collection, testing, and documentation.
Sales & Business Support:
- Analyze sales performance, pricing trends, and customer feedback for TL fixation products.
- Assist with sales training materials, product guides, and marketing collateral.
- Help prepare internal and external presentations for product updates.
Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work with R&D, marketing, regulatory, and supply chain teams to track product milestones.
- Support planning for product launches, line extensions, and instrument enhancements.
- Contribute to the creation of FAQs, case studies, and training modules for field sales teams.
What skills and experience will you need?
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with Power BI is a plus.
- Interest in medical devices, orthopedics, or spine surgery is highly preferred.
