About the Role:
We are looking for ambitious, movie-obsessed students to join the IMAX Internship Program this Spring. This 10-week, part-time program is designed to provide hands-on learning, skill development, and real-world experience in a collaborative and innovative environment, based in our Playa Vista office.
The Social Media Intern will contribute both creatively and tactically to help grow and strengthen IMAX’s global social media presence. This role offers the opportunity to support the social team in executing strategies that enhance the brand’s online reputation and engagement with fans worldwide.
Responsibilities
Assist with performance reporting by compiling and analyzing data (views, impressions, engagement, etc.) for social posts and campaigns
Use social listening tools to gather insights on fan sentiment, social conversations, and competitor activity
Support community management and assist with copywriting across social platforms
Brainstorm creative, social-first and fan-first ideas for the IMAX brand and film releases
Identify opportunities to engage audiences on emerging and non-traditional platforms (e.g., Reddit, Discord)
Stay up to date on social media trends and viral content, identifying ways IMAX can participate in or lead conversations
Help execute promotions, giveaways, surprise-and-delight moments, and other brand activations
Support the social, digital, and brand teams with ad hoc projects and administrative tasks
Participate in IMAX social content when needed
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing or a related field
Strong interest in social media and digital marketing
Passion for film and entertainment
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
Nice to Haves
Deep familiarity with social media culture and trends (“chronically online” mindset)
Interest in online communities and emerging platforms
Comfort being on camera and participating in social content

Hiring Range :
$21.00 (per hour) Placement within this range depends on a candidate’s experience, skills, internal equity, and regional market factors.
