About this role

The SSD AI and Telemetry team develops intelligent software infrastructure that enables data-driven insights throughout SSD development. The team works across Boise, ID; Longmont, CO; and Folsom, CA to support data collection, analysis, and system optimization for next-generation data center SSDs.

The Intern for SSD AI and Telemetry supports the development of scalable data pipelines, AI/ML models, and visualization tools that transform raw SSD debug and telemetry data into actionable insights. The role collaborates with engineering and AI/ML groups to integrate intelligent analytics into SSD development workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automated data ingestion pipelines into cloud-based databases.
  • Develop AI/ML models that analyze SSD telemetry and debug data.
  • Build dashboards and visualization tools that present insights from large datasets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI-driven solutions into existing workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in Python with familiarity in libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, or TensorFlow.
  • Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud platforms and data analytics tools such as GCP, AWS, or BigQuery.
  • Exposure to SSDs, memory storage hierarchy, or enterprise storage systems.
  • Familiarity with MLOps practices for model deployment and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of Agile development or test‑driven development methodologies.
