Job Title: Internal Audit – 2026 Summer Internship
Location: New York City
Duration: 8 weeks (Monday June 8th to Friday July 31)
Pay Rate: $20 per hour
Department / Team Summary:
The Internal Audit team provides independent, objective assurance and advisory support to help the organization strengthen risk management, internal controls, governance, and operational effectiveness. The team evaluates key business processes to assess compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards. Internal Audit also partners with management to identify control gaps, process improvements opportunities, and emerging risks. Through its work, the team helps protect the organization’s assets, enhance accountability, and support informed decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Internal Audit team in evaluating and testing internal controls, processes, and compliance with company policies and regulations
- Perform data analysis, reconciliations and testing of controls/records under supervision
- Support the Internal Audit team in assessing operational efficiency and recommending process improvements
- Help prepare audit documentation, reports, etc. for management review
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism while collaborating with different divisions/departments to gather/obtain necessary information
Required Qualifications:
- Only accepting rising Sophomores (grad year May 2029) and rising Juniors (grad year May 2028).
- Must have a minimum overall 3.4 GPA.
- Must be able to commute to NYC 4 days a week (Monday – Thursday)
Role Summary:
Mutual of America’s Summer Internship Program provides college students with hands-on corporate experience working with meaningful projects and assignments. Throughout the 8-week program, interns will not only have direct guidance from experienced leaders in their assigned departments but can have the opportunity to attend training classes and planned events with other interns.
