Internship - Systems Engineer

GENERAL SUMMARY
The Systems Engineering Intern provides hands-on support to Systems Engineers across active production and development programs. This role offers practical exposure to systems engineering fundamentals, production support activities, and regulated engineering environments. The intern will contribute to defined tasks aligned with program needs and available time, working under the guidance of an experienced Systems Engineer to support both new and existing projects.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Support day-to-day systems engineering activities for active production and development programs
• Assist with production support efforts, including obsolescence investigations, cost-saving initiatives, and issue resolution
• Support new and existing projects through production launch activities, testing support, and documentation updates
• Assist Systems Engineers with systems engineering deliverables, including:
• Product and system requirements support
• Safety assessments and regulatory reviews
• Bill of Material (BOM) management, including cost, weight, power, and data considerations
• Configuration management activities

QUALITIFICATIONS 

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, Junior or Senior standing required
• Preferred areas of study: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering
• Basic understanding of engineering principles and systems concepts
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a structured, team-based engineering environment
