While we are a distributed team with most team-members working remotely, we place an emphasis on staying connected and collaborative, prioritizing in-person opportunities to build trust as a team. At Istari, we still believe that trust is best built in-person. To do this, we have an engineering headquarters in Cambridge, MA for focused technical development and several times per year we gather for an off-site that allows us to develop our professional skills and our team relationships.

We are seeking Interns to join our Istari team. This is a pooled posting for any student seeking a paid internship at Istari. If your skills align with our current needs, we will reach out to coordinate the specifics (responsibilities, projects, hours, compensation, timeline, and more).

Key Responsibilities

• A flexible, paid internship program with opportunities across multiple disciplines
• Roles, projects, scope, and schedule tailored to the candidate and team needs
• Start dates available year-round; part-time or full-time options depending on availability

Potential tracks (examples, not exhaustive)

• Software Engineering (frontend, backend, full-stack)
• AI/ML and Data Science (modeling, analytics, MLOps)
• Product Management (discovery, specs, delivery)
• Design and Research (UX/UI, product design, user research, visual/brand)
• Customer Success and Solutions
• Security, IT, and DevOps

Compensation and benefits

• Paid hourly; competitive and commensurate with role, location, and experience

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student; technical majors welcome
• Clear communicator with a bias to action and ownership
• Evidence of relevant skills (coursework, projects, internships, research, open source, clubs)
• Comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to learn quickly
• For technical roles: experience with at least one modern programming language or data/ML toolkit
• For design/creative roles: a portfolio or samples of work
• For business-facing roles: analytical mindset and interest in customers, markets, or operations
• Must be a US citizen living within the United States.
