IT Business Analyst

Position Summary:

Necco has an opportunity for a career as IT Business Analyst. This individual will add the most value to the company by utilizing technology to answer wide-ranging business questions and by making recommendations for technical solutions. This individual must be able define the questions being asked, identify appropriate resources, conduct research, and generate facts that answer the questions. Problem solving is a must.

Collaboration

• Gather business requirements for data projects and organize them into relevant, accurate, and detailed user stories
• Lead discovery sessions between data team and end users when needed for product delivery
• Work closely with Service Delivery Lead to identify and resolve roadblocks
• Work closely with business leaders and other analysts across all service lines and departments to learn data deficiencies and questions that are going unanswered
• Identify gaps in application capabilities or usage and communicate those to the Business Transformation Manager
• Act as a knowledge source for architects, developers, and testers

 

Documentation

• Document requirements and trace them back to the application for technical specs and database location
• Translate business needs into visual mock-ups for data & analytics team
• Assist in driving solutions towards automation

 

Business Requirements

• Utilize Microsoft Excel to collect data from various source applications (when necessary)
• Create Pivot Tables, charts, and graphs to help visualize the data and analysis
• Create simple and straight-forward visuals to present analyses using applications such as Microsoft Power Point
• Provide coordination from the business perspective for user acceptance training.
• Identify defects discovered by testers and serve as liaison with appropriate technical resources

Position Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Information Technology from an accredited college or university; or commiserate experience.
• Successful completion of all required background checks
• Valid driver’s license with 100/300/100 auto coverage
• Excels at prioritization, execution, and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Excellent interpersonal communication, writing, and organizational skills
• Manage a flexible schedule that aggressively responds to internal requests and deadlines.
• Experience working in a team environment.
