Job Overview Summary
Our Summer Intern Program is aimed at providing an enriching and mutually beneficial experience that empowers young talent with the skills, knowledge, and values needed to excel in their chosen fields and prepare them for the next step in their careers. In addition to their working teams, the cohort will have regular opportunities to engage with each other and senior leaders from across Advarra to expand their networks and exposure to the business.
The IT Business Analyst Intern will work with the Enterprise Infrastructure Team to support a number of investigative and documentation efforts to better document and clarify IT systems and assets across Advarra. This position will work closely with the IT team and the wider business to capture and update details, update documentation, create reports, and produce other deliverables used to make more informed decisions to deliver IT services to the business.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Review assigned work in our ticketing system and keep information on assigned work up to date.
- Evaluate existing systems and application documentation to understand the current environment.
- With support and direction, engage areas of the business to collect updates to refresh documentation.
- Generate reports with findings from completed work.
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned
Location
This role is open to candidates working Hybrid in Columbia, Maryland.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 1 year of work experience or pursuing an undergraduate/graduate level degree or accredited certification programs in the Information Technology or Computer related fields
- Ability to participate in the cohort beginning Monday, June 1, 2026 and running through Friday, August 7, 2026 and work either part time or full time between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm EST (edit for requirements)
- Must be currently authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work well in teams
- Strong work ethic, personal integrity, and attention to detail
- Familiar with Windows 11 and Microsoft Office Suite
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion within the IT department
Physical and Mental Requirements
- Sit or stand for extended periods of time at stationary workstation
- Regularly carry, raise, and lower objects of up to 10 Lbs.
- Learn and comprehend basic instructions
- Focus and attention to tasks and responsibilities
- Verbal communication; listening and understanding, responding, and speaking
