Why It's a great opportunity: Pierce County’s Information Technology Division has an IT Analyst internship opportunity that will utilize and enhance your Microsoft Power BI skills. In this role you and your team will be supporting the Juvenile Courts by reconfiguring approximately 25 reports to conform to new reporting standards. This will enable them to create easier fixes and modifications to reports they rely on. This is a great opportunity for an aspiring data analyst/data engineer to learn more about Power BI and interaction with customers.
The Information Technology Division’s 130 staff are responsible for building, operating, and maintaining the technologies that power essential public services in Pierce County. How to be successful in the role: Your success will come from using and expanding your experience with Microsoft Power BI. A positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a desire to help and support co-workers will be key. This is a primarily remote internship, so dedication and being self-driven will also ensure your success.

Core daily responsibilities:
- Standardize reports to Power BI data models.
- Quality assurance checks to ensure the reports are working correctly.
- Reporting status at daily team meetings.
- Collaborating with customers to confirm requirements and coordinating testing efforts.
Minimum Qualifications
- A resume and cover letter are required for this position.
- IT/Data Analytics program enrollment or background AND
- Exposure and some experience with Power BI or any reporting tool.
