Department Overview

 

The IT Security team oversees all Architecture and Information Security functions supporting Mercedes‑Benz operations across the US and Canada. The team is comprised of experts focused on safeguarding enterprise systems, ensuring compliance, and delivering secure technology solutions that protect the organization’s digital ecosystem.

 

 

 

Job Overview

 

This intern position on the Cybersecurity team at Mercedes-Benz USA will be working with the team on various Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance topics. This includes: Third Party Risk Management, Data Compliance, Audit Support, Vulnerability Management, Cloud Data Sovereignty, Security Architecture, and Disaster Recovery.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:
 
  • Identify and assess risk for third party vendors. Create reports that emphasize greatest risk as areas of focus

 

  • Gather evidence and organize documentation for audits 

 

  • Report on threat modeling, penetration tests, and source code analysis results and remediation efforts

 

  • Collaborate with application teams to design and enhance cybersecurity posture

 

  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture and Data Compliance Teams to uphold organizational architecture and data privacy standards

     

 


Qualifications / Education:

 

To qualify for this internship opportunity, you must be a rising junior or rising senior enrolled in a Bachelor's program.

 

Preferred concentration of study: 

  • Computer Science

  • Engineering with an interest in Cybersecurity  

  • Will also consider pre-law and those who have interest in Data Compliance

 

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

 

  • Entry level cybersecurity certificates such as: CompTIA Security+, GIAC GSEC, ISC2 CC

 

  • No previous IT experience is required for this internship

 

  • Comfortable with using AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft CoPilot

 

  • Good Presentation Skills

     

 

 

 

Additional Information

 

During this 8.5-week summer internship, you will be required to work onsite 4 days a week at our Sandy Springs, GA headquarters.
