Summary:

The IT Security Engineer designs, builds and implements security solutions and controls to safeguard an organization's assets. They work closely with other IT professionals and teams to identify, analyze and evaluate potential security threats and develop strategies to mitigate them. The main objective of an IT Security Engineer is to ensure that the organization's data and information remain confidential, available, and secure from unauthorized access, theft, or damage. They must create and maintain security policies and procedures, conduct periodic security audits, and monitor all systems for any signs of intrusion or vulnerability. The IT Security Engineer is tasked with staying up-to-date with the latest security trends and incorporating them into their organization's security strategy. The IT Security Engineer plays a crucial role in maintaining the security of an organization's assets and infrastructure.

This role will have to collaborate with other IT professionals to ensure security measures are integrated into all new technology implementations. Supports incident management/response across the enterprise and provide consistent security monitoring, response, follow-up investigation, and determination of root cause. Evaluate security alerts generated by internal systems, vendors, and other industry sources.They must take a proactive approach to monitoring platforms and services, identifying and predicting problems prior to them developing into emergencies and reporting recommendations to IT Security Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Help mentor new and existing team members on IT Security matters and operational tasks.
  • Design and implement multilevel security strategies to protect networks and data resources.
  • Identifies and assesses vulnerabilities in systems and networks through vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.
  • Plan computer and network security upgrades and test hardware and software related to the upgrade.
  • Address technical problems related to applications and production equipment.
  • Participate in security incident response activities and lead investigations as needed.
  • Build Systems, Cloud & Web app vulnerability management program.
  • Improve Application Security management processes.
  • Assess Data loss prevention implementation and management.
  • Continuously improve Endpoint Security management.
  • Optimize Security Information and Event Management tools.
  • Azure Entra ID (Azure AD) Conditional Access Management & Policy Building.
  • Security related tools management and planned architecture for production.
  • Perform regular security audits and risk assessments to identify and address potential security issues.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in security technologies to remain up-to-date with best practices.
  • Comply with the company's drug-free and tobacco/nicotine-free policy.
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Experience/Qualifications: 

  • 4+ years of work experience within Cybersecurity, Networking OR Information Technology required. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to lift to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
  • Must be able to legally work in the USA.

 Education and Certification(s)/License(s): 

  • Security +, CySA+, SSCP,CISSP, Microsoft Azure Security AZ-900, preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field, preferred.
  • CISSP is highly preferred.
  • Security +, CySA+, SSCP, & Microsoft Azure Security AZ-900 are a plus.
