About this role

Summary:

The Jacket Potato Crew Member is responsible for providing excellent guest service, preparing food, and maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with daily restaurant operations. This role requires an enthusiastic, team-oriented individual who is committed to delivering high-quality service to our guests.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests enthusiastically and ensure a positive dining experience.
  • Take accurate food and beverage orders, addressing special requests or dietary needs.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, complaints, or concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Prepare, cook, and assemble food items according to restaurant standards and recipes.
  • Ensure all food is cooked to the proper temperature, consistency, and presentation.
  • Follow all food handling, storage, and safety guidelines to maintain quality and compliance.
  • Minimize food waste and assist with recipe testing or menu improvements as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in food prep, service, and dining areas.
  • Clean and sanitize tables, counters, equipment, and workspace regularly.
  • Sweep, mop, and remove trash as required to ensure a safe, sanitary environment.
  • Operate the cash register and accurately process cash, credit, and debit transactions.
  • Follow proper cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, inventory stocking, and supply management.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels for ingredients, condiments, and supplies.
  • Help implement cost-saving and waste-reduction measures.
  • Adhere to all health, safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Maintain knowledge of knife safety, glove requirements, and first aid procedures.
  • Ensure equipment is properly cleaned, serviced and in good working condition.
  • Obtain and maintain required certifications (e.g., Food Handler’s, TABC if applicable).
  • Be available to work flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Support and facilitate organizational changes, continuous improvement and communication.

Physical Requirements:

·       Ability to stand, walk, talk/hear, push/pull, climb, bend/stoop, crouch/kneel, taste/smell, balance, twist/reach, carry, grasp with hands, squat. 

·       Lifting Requirements: Lift/pull up to 50lbs daily.

·       Hearing Requirements: Ability to hear alarms, communication equipment, verbal instructions, kitchen machinery and equipment. 

·       Cognitive Requirements: Basic reading, writing and math skills. Ability to follow instructions. Basic speech skills; must be able to speak, read, write & understand the English language, memorization, function under stress & make independent decisions. 

·       Vision Requirements: General vision requirements in addition to close vision (<20 inches), color vision and peripheral vision.

·       Noise Levels: Normal (<85dB) noise levels and/or Loud (>85dB) noise levels.  

·       Repetitive Motion(s): Regularly & repetitively use both feet and both hands.

·       Environmental Factors: General working conditions include wet/humid/steam conditions not created by weather, slippery floors, hot grease, working with mechanical parts and machinery including machinery that contains moving parts, toxic/caustic chemicals, concentrated soaps & cleaning solutions, asbestos exposure, outdoor weather conditions, extreme heat/cold, confined areas, pressurized equipment, CO2 Cylinders, electrical equipment, vibration, possible flying debris, flashing/strobing lighting and work around vehicles in motion.
