Journeyman 1 - Multi-Craft Maintenance Tech

UPMC Jameson, located in New Castle, PA.  is hiring a Journeyman Multi-Craft Maint. Tech to join the Facilities Team! 

This Full-Time role will work varying shifts. This position will have rotating on call responsibility. Working weekends, off shifts as well as holidays would be required. 

Final candidates will be selected for a job title within the career ladder that reflects level of education, experience and manager discretion at time of offer.

Journeyman 1- Multi-Craft Maint. Tech:

Salary range $25.97 to $45.04 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.
• Inspect electrical distribution systems, locate short circuits, loose connectors, worn motor brushes, etc.; inspect fire alarm system and provide first response to all fire alarms. 
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, equipment rooms and shop areas. 
• Maintain all written logs pertaining to shift responsibilities, i.e., med gas, equipment room rounds, etc. 
• Maintain water chemistry and testing procedures on equipment and building systems. 
• Operate and maintain a variety of building's direct digital control (DDC) systems. Order materials as needed. Perform all work following infection control procedures. 
• Perform minor carpentry and painting work.
• Record work orders and submit hours to supervisor on a daily basis. 
• Minor repairs and maintaining of plumbing fixtures, piping systems, plumbing leaks (soldering), defective pipes and clogged drains. 
• Safely and efficiently operate and maintain all mechanical systems, i.e., steam pressure heating systems, water systems, ventilation systems, refrigeration equipment, etc.; round mechanical equipment and machine rooms in all buildings as assigned. 
• Performs required maintenance, repair and inspection of beds.
• Ability to perform snow removal activities and work in adverse weather conditions.
• *Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. 
• *Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Journeyman 2- Multi-Craft Maint. Tech:

Salary range $27.99 to $48.00 per hour.

Responsibilities:

• Perform general maintenance work and tasks as directed with minimal supervision.

• Operate, maintain and troubleshoot pneumatic tube systems.

Journeyman 1- Multi-Craft Maint. Tech:

• Completion of an Associate's Degree, a Two-year Mechanical or related Trade School program or an Apprenticeship in a Trade required.
• Also 4 years of general maintenance work experience working in a healthcare or commercial environment is required. Military experience considered.
• OR Completion of a high school diploma/GED and a Total of 8 years of general maintenance work experience working in a healthcare or commercial environment is required. Military experience considered.
   

Journeyman 2- Multi-Craft Maint. Tech:

• Completion of an Associate's Degree, a Two-year Mechanical or related Trade School program or an Apprenticeship in a Trade required.
• Also 7 years of general maintenance work experience working in a healthcare or commercial environment is required. Military experience considered.
   
• Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
  Driver's License.  Certifications in one or more specific trade is preferred – HVACR, Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry.
