JOB TITLE: Junior Accountant

DIVISION: Accounting

STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Junior Accountant to join our accounting team. This entry-level position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional looking to develop a strong foundation in accounting. The Junior Accountant will support daily accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with reconciliations, and help ensure timely processing of financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with recording daily financial transactions 
  • Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and on time
  • Post incoming payments and apply them to customer accounts
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Communicate with customers regarding billing questions, payment status, and account discrepancies
  • Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment differences
  • Maintain accurate records of invoices, payments, credits, and adjustments
  • Support cash application and daily deposit reconciliations
  • Prepare accounts receivable reports and assist with collections tracking
  • Work with internal departments to resolve invoice or payment issues
  • Support accounts payable activities
  • Manage company credit card process using Concur
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing tasks
  • Help prepare financial reports, spreadsheets, and account analyses
  • Review accounting entries for accuracy and resolve discrepancies
  • Support audits by gathering financial records and documentation
  • Perform administrative and other accounting-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • This entry-level position is open to recent graduates and candidates with limited professional experience
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or part-time experience in accounting, finance, or office administration
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Yardi or similar systems
