About this role

Purpose of Position 

The Junior Accountant is responsible for performing day-to-day accounting transactions to ensure accurate financial and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Assists in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded 
  • Helps ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts 
  • Prepares account reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts 
  • Compiles financial data to aid more senior accountants in preparation of balance sheets, profit & loss statements, and other financial reports 
  • Helps maintain Fixed Assets system, assigning Asset Numbers, and tracking projects. 
  • Helps prepare journal entries, as may be required 
  • Assists in P&L account analysis 
  • Assists in preparing audit schedules and confirmation at year end close 
  • Assists with tax audits 
  • Assist in ad hoc projects as needed 
  • Perform all duties as assigned 

 

Key Skills and Experience 

  • Education Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s in Accounting or Business, Preferred 
  • 2 to 3 years of related accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment with exposure to inventory and production accounting concepts
  • Demonstrates proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. 
  • JD Edwards Oracle or SAP a strong plus 
  • Must be self-motivated, flexible, hands-on, and able to work in a fast paced, multitask environment 
  • Must have excellent organizational and time management skills 
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is subject to standing for prolonged periods; frequently walks, grasps, lifts, holds, or feels objects; occasionally stoops, kneels, crouches, or crawls. The employee often is required to use manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination when working and handling products, computers, or machinery. The employee may be subject to assist and support up to 50 pounds with varying amounts of assistance on an as-needed basis. The employee could have work conditions that are cold or hot. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.


Compensation: Up to $27.00 - based on experience
