Job Description

BAE is seeking a Junior Business Analyst for Business Enablement (IT, Security, and Cost Optimization) to join our Intelligence and Security (I&S) Business Technology Office (BTO) team to support the business by providing operational control, transparency, and coordination across IT services, security enablement, governance, and cost optimization activities. This role ensures that technology services and investments are requested, approved, delivered, governed, and optimized in a way that minimizes operational and security risk, enables business delivery, and supports growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand, Delivery, and Business Support
  • Support the demand management process for small managed efforts and projects
  • Update and maintain demand records in ServiceNow
  • Track approvals, actions, and follow-ups to ensure requests translate into delivered outcomes
  • Assist with minor IT and filed service issues and incidents as needed
Security and Risk Enablement
  • Coordinate with Sector Information Assurance to support
    • Cloud Service Provider reviews
    • Exception requests
    • Vulnerability management and compliance task tracking
  • Maintain documentation and records to support audit readiness and compliance
Business Capability Improvement
  • Work with business stakeholders to:
    • Identify and document internal operational and capability improvement opportunities
    • Ensue improvement efforts align to A3 strategic priorities
  • Maintain and inventory of improvement opportunities aligned to reducing manual work and improving scalability
  • Support prioritization, sequencing, and follow-up of improvement initiatives
  • Assist in tracking adoption and value realization of delivered capabilities
Cost Optimization and Financial Enablement
  • Support intentional spend management by:
    • Tracking usage, cost, and lifecycle data (mobile, assets, services)
    • Supporting cost optimization initiatives under direction including:
      • NexThink analysis to identify underutilization, refresh deferral, and productivity opportunities
      • Circuit utilizations to reduce excess capacity
      • VOIP line reviews and decommissioning of unused services
  • Provide data and transparency to support business and finance decision-making
Operational Governance and Risk Control
  • Provide coordination and documentation support for recurring governance rhythms, including quarterly application reviews and portfolio-related checkpoints
  • Prepare and maintain governance artifacts (agendas, trackers, decisions, logs, action item registers, etc.)
  • Ensure traceability between decisions, approvals, and implementation
Procurement, Approvals and lifecycle Support
  • Provide backup support for procurement coordination during peak periods or absences
  • Support software hardware, and peripheral approval workflows
  • Assist with Lifecycle One approvals
Communications, Coordination and Follow-Through
  • Coordinate across IT, CSO, and business areas to prevent work from stalling between groups
  • Track and distribute IT-related communications
  • Maintain process documentation and records
  • Support basic reporting across demand, approvals, security, and improvement activities

Required Skills and Education

  • Experience:
  • Experience supporting IT, business, or operational processes in a coordination, analyst or support role
  • Exposure to enterprise IT environments, including service delivery, applications, or infrastructure (direct or indirect)
  • Experience tracking work across multiple stakeholders and maintaining follow-through on actions and approvals
  • Familiarity with structured processes such as intake, approvals, documentation, or reporting
  • Awareness of security, risk, or compliance considerations in an IT environment
  • Experience working with ServiceNow or similar ticketing / workflow tools
  • Experience working with collaboration tools such as SharePoint and TEAMS
  • Basic knowledge of Project management principles and practices
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
  • Skills:
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new processes and technologies
