About this role

Position Summary

 

The primary day-to-day responsibility of a Junior Corporate Accountant will be to assist the Accounting and Finance Department with all essential accounting functions and financial reporting. The person in this role will need to have knowledge of accounting principles and a thorough understanding of financial statements. Meticulous organization with outstanding attention to detail and accuracy; possess the ability to work independently and to research/resolve problems as they arise; comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, where speed and accuracy will be required. This role will assist the Accounting and Finance Department in providing the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and timeliness for complex accounting, financial reporting, and other operations metrics key to the Executive Management team.

  • Process and review vendor payments and G/L coding
  • Prepare daily, weekly & monthly bank reconciliations
  • Prepare income, expenses, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries
  • Prepare, assist, and/or review monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Source and prep data from other company software systems, ensuring the data integrity and accuracy before migrating into the Accounting Software
  • Being able to work with teams from other departments to achieve a common goal will be essential
  • Work to streamline the accounting cycle that’s necessary to close each period
  • Assist in the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and other financial reports
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries to the General Ledger
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Review general ledger activity for accuracy of coding
  • Assist in ensuring proper controls and procedures are in place to adequately safeguard the company's assets
  • Prepare reports, analyze, and participate in other projects as needed
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance

Skills & Abilities

 

 

 

 

 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or actively enrolled full-time pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

 

 

 

 

Experience:

0-6 months of experience minimum in Finance, Accounting, or Business Field

 

 

 

 

Computer Skills:

Must demonstrate knowledge of office administration, management, technology, and systems. Must be highly adept at Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel, Word, and familiar with Publisher and PowerPoint.

 

 

 

 

 

Other Requirements:

 

 

Must have a valid driver's license, proof of valid vehicle insurance, and must have an annual Motor Vehicle Record Check, as a condition of employment, if the employee operates any Company-owned vehicles or drives their own personal vehicle for Company business purposes. Demonstrated knowledge of advanced accounting principles.
