Summary
Credit Specialist for Centralized Commercial Loan (CCL) Portfolio Management (PM) Team aids PM Team in support of the Bank’s commercial loan portfolio: specifically in daily collateral monitoring for our Centralized and Commercial markets, as well as aids in regular monitoring and support of the CCL portfolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Underwriting Support:
- Demonstrate an understanding of applicable credit products and requirements.
- Proactively communicate with Relationship Teams, CCL partners, and other Bank partners for appropriate financial documents.
- Determine appropriate review criteria based on Credit Approval Package, executed Business Loan Agreement, and other loan documentation.
- Spread financial statement and tax return data into Bank software or templates.
- Participate in special projects and assignments and perform other duties as assigned.
Research & Documentation:
- Research imaged files to determine documents are appropriate and readable.
- Evaluate submitted information for completeness and accuracy as needed.
- Verify borrower information aligns with Loan and Approval documentation.
Administrative:
- Communicate Daily with Relationship Teams, CCL partners, and other Bank partners via both verbal and written sources including participation in one-on-one or tele/video conferencing, composing, tracking, and follow-up activity.
- Prepare, Submit, and Approve forms for a variety of portfolio management and maintenance items.
- Image finalized documents into loan origination system while following accuracy standards.
- Submit Facility Maintenance Forms accurately to set availability based on finalized review.
- Aid in timely monitoring of support e-mail box: identify, resolve, and route requests or inquiries across CCL and bank partners appropriately.
- Aid in pulling and preparing reports for management.
Required:
- Education: Ideal candidate will have a degree (Bachelor) preferred in Accounting, Finance or Business.
- Prior experience in credit underwriting support, or role closely aligned with credit, loans and effectively supporting loan functions.
- Communication: Above average written and oral communication skills including the ability to compose emails and communicate via telephone conversations to internal customers that properly represent First Horizon Bank.
- Ability to use critical thinking to complete job responsibilities. Ability to make decisions independently based on training and written procedures and processes.
- Technical knowledge: Basic knowledge of consumer and/or commercial loan documentation and products. Knowledge of internet research methods. Thorough knowledge of basic internet search engines. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Outlook is required.
