We have shifts mornings, nights, and weekends.
Position Summary:
Provides directions for the program and classroom and implements program curriculum. Provides quality experience to children and parents that focus on the YMCA values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Essential Functions:
- Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
- Designs and implements daily lesson/activity plans.
- Supervises the children, classroom, and all activities.
- Makes ongoing, systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
- Conducts parent conferences and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Engaged parents as volunteers.
- Maintains program site and equipment. Ensure the area is safe.
- Maintains required program records.
- Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
- Use Daxko Engage technology to build relationships with members and children. Encourages and sells programs.
- Applies YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention.
- Ensures the health and safety of all members/guests.
- Inspect physical space to ensure the safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness of facilities.

Qualifications:
- Meets educational and experience qualifications established by state law.
- CPR, First Aid, AED certifications, and Child Abuse prevention training within 30 days of hire date.
- Previous experience working with children in a developmental setting preferred.
- Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
- Previous experience with diverse populations. Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Must pass Level 2 Background Screening. Level 2 is a fingerprint check of state and federal criminal history information conducted through the Florida Department of law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). https://info.flclearinghouse.com
