What We're Looking For:

Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree required.  Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in medical technology, clinical laboratory science, or chemical, physical or biological science or equivalent. Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology or MT program, preferred.

Experience:  Five years of relevant laboratory tech and/or leadership experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification (required): Technologist/Scientist Cert from ASCP or AMT (BB, C, H, HTL, MT/MLS, M, MB).

Additional Skills/Requirements (required):  All individuals certified ASCP beginning January 1, 2004, must participate and maintain ASCP Board of Certification (BOC) through the Certification Maintenance Program (CMP). All individuals who are certified AMT beginning January 1, 2006, must participate and maintain AMT Certification Continuation Program (CCP). Qualifies as a General Supervisor under CLIA 88 guidelines. Knowledge of current medical terminology to perform full range of laboratory tests. Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing to perform quality control checks and troubleshooting of instrumentation. Knowledge of medical terminology to communicate with medical staff regarding laboratory procedures and results. Skill in performing a full range of laboratory tests. Skill in anticipating and reacting calmly to emergency situations. Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, hospital staff and the public. Ability to read and understand information about instrumentation in laboratory field. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.

Additional Skills/Requirements (preferred):  Specialist certifications from accreditation agencies.

What You'll Do:

As a Lab Supervisor, you’ll oversee day-to-day lab operations, support a talented team of professionals, ensure quality and regulatory compliance, and champion innovation in patient diagnostics. You’ll play a vital role in shaping both outcomes and careers.

• Performs quality control testing to assure accuracy of patient testing. Performs equipment maintenance and troubleshooting. 
• Performs competency and proficiency testing to assure maintenance of skills. Reviews QC and completes necessary quality audits. 
• Maintains required documentation for all lab procedures. Processes requisitions for testing. Prepares and distributes reports.
• Coordinates the testing and submission of proficiency testing as well as generates documents for QA/QM monitoring. 
• Ensures laboratory compliance with all regulatory standards (CLIA, CAP, AABB, TJC, etc.)
• Provides information and consultation to requestors. Recognizes and promotes interdependencies with other areas.
• Team member must possess sufficient motor skill and manual dexterity to obtain and manipulate specimens in a manner that does not endanger themselves and others.
