The Lead Clinical Supervisor (LCS) plays a key role in fostering an environment where staff feel supported, families feel heard, and clients receive individualized, person-centered care.

The LCS provides clinical leadership at the local level, overseeing the quality and consistency of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services while mentoring and developing clinical staff. This position works closely with the Business Manager, Program Supervisors (BCBAs), Behavior Technicians, and the leadership team to ensure services are delivered in accordance with Pathways' values, policies, evidence-based practices, and the unique needs of each client and family.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership & Quality Assurance

• Oversee and maintain assigned clinical cases, ensuring high-quality, person-centered service delivery.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the administration and interpretation of VB-MAPP, AFLS, and ABLLS assessments.
• Develop effective treatment plans, behavior intervention plans, and clinical reports within authorized timelines, requiring minimal revisions.
• Ensure clinical services align with Pathways policies, ethical standards, and evidence-based ABA practices.
• Conduct monthly fidelity reviews for all Program Supervisors to support quality improvement and clinical excellence.
• Provide weekly parent and caregiver training for assigned clients, promoting collaboration and empowering families as active members of the treatment team.
• Support caseload management in accordance with Program Supervisor responsibilities and clinical standards.

Team Development & Supervision

• Lead, coach, and support Program Supervisors and Lead Behavior Technicians in the completion of clinical responsibilities and professional development goals.
• Meet weekly with Program Supervisors to provide guidance, problem-solving support, and mentorship.
• Participate in the onboarding and training of new employees, including Behavior Technicians (BTs), Licensed Behavior Technicians (LBTs), and Program Supervisors (PSs).
• Serve as a trusted mentor for newly hired staff, providing guidance on clinical operations, assessment administration, curriculum implementation, and company policies and procedures.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, kindness, accountability, and continuous learning throughout the clinic.
• Partner with supervisors and management to facilitate staff meetings and provide monthly ABA-focused professional development training.
• Support and oversee the Behavior Analyst in Training Program, helping future clinicians develop confidence and competence in their practice.

Collaboration & Communication

• Build positive relationships with clients, families, staff, and interdisciplinary partners through respectful, compassionate communication.
• Participate in administrative meetings, leadership discussions, and professional development opportunities.
• Encourage teamwork across departments to ensure coordinated, client-centered care and a supportive workplace culture.

Supervisory Responsibility

The Lead Clinical Supervisor serves as a coach, mentor, and clinical leader within the clinic. This position collaborates with multiple departments to support operational and clinical excellence while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.

The LCS provides direct clinical supervision to Program Supervisors, Lead Behavior Technicians, and Registered Behavior Technicians and offers indirect clinical oversight to other ABA team members.

While performing the duties of this role, employees regularly communicate with clients, families, and team members. This position requires close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees may need to bend, reach, move quickly, and remain seated for extended periods. Team members are encouraged to maintain healthy movement throughout the workday to support their overall well-being.

Position Expected Hours of Work/Environment

Pathways values work-life balance and recognizes that supporting our employees is essential to supporting our clients. This is a full-time, onsite position. Typical operating hours are Monday through Saturday, between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM, during which clinical and employee support needs may arise.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required for meetings, training, or visits to Pathways divisions and locations as needed.

Required Education and Experience

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification required.
• Licensed in the State of Michigan. 
• Master's degree required.
• Two to four years of relevant clinical and supervisory experience preferred.
