Duties
Serves as working laundry machine operator leader, setting the work pace for 12 - 15 laundry machine operators and laundry workers. Highest level of worker led is NA-7305-05 Laundry Machine Operator. As needed demonstrates the proper work techniques to new employees or current employees requiring additional training. Checks work in progress to ensure safety and housekeeping rules are followed. Operates 4 to 8 commercial type washing machines for a variety of purposes, e.g. to laundry, dye, starch or treat articles with water repellent and fire retardant. Knows the formulas used for various types and degrees of soiled laundry. Insures washers are loaded according to the capacity of the machine. Processes different types of laundry involving differences in water temperatures, numbers and timing of cycles and addition of bleaches, souring, bluing, alkali, etc. at various stages. Unloads washers into proper transport for movement to other departments. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

A qualified candidate must possess the following: A minimum of six months experience as a laundry worker or laundry machine operator in a large high volume laundry operation.

Area of Consideration: This job is open to candidates who live in this commuting area (the Island of Oahu). If determined that area of consideration is to be expanded, all candidates will be considered. If you reside outside of the local commuting area, relocation costs will be at your expense. PCS Costs: Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based upon a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Allowances and Differentials: This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week - whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays.
