Lead Technologist, Lab - Laboratory - Mullica Hill

MAJOR FUNCTION:
Under direction of the Blood Bank Manager, leads and oversees the work of staff members responsible for performing duties in Blood Bank operations and services. Ensures adherence to policies and procedures, provides training to personnel, maintains and stores records according to regulatory requirements, oversees daily departmental activities in the Manager’s absence, and performs a variety of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement tasks relative to the Transfusion Service Department. Duties and assignments depend on the operational needs of the departments and staffing levels.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a hospital-based Blood Bank laboratory.  

Certification/Licensure:    

• ASCP or equivalent, certification required. 

Knowledge & Skills:

• Knowledge of Pertinent FDA/CBER regulations, NJ State Sanitary Code, CAP & AABB requirements.
