Position Duties
This position focuses on supervising Legal Assistant 2 staff and coordinating appeals-related work within the Western sector. It requires strong leadership, careful organization, and the ability to maintain smooth office operations. As a Legal Assistant Supervisor, you will perform the following duties:
- Staff Supervision: Direct daily work of Legal Assistant 2 staff and review completed tasks for accuracy
- Work Coordination: Assign duties, shift workloads, and arrange support from other offices when necessary
- Training Support: Provide training for new and current staff to maintain efficient and consistent performance
- Document Processing: Participate in reviewing legal documents, organizing case files, and scheduling hearings
- Interpreter Oversight: Manage interpreter scheduling and ensure proper documentation for invoice verification
- Office Operations: Approve supply requests, prepare reports, and address employee concerns and performance needs

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours may be negotiable.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, after successful completion of training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to a Western Sector office that is closest to your home. Possible work locations are available in Erie, Westmoreland, Cambria (Johnstown location), Mercer, and Allegheny counties.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year as a Legal Assistant 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Five years of responsible clerical, investigative or enforcement work including two years of legal clerical experience; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
