Role Description

LES Developer – Job Description

We are seeking an experienced LES Developer to design, develop, configure, and support Laboratory Execution System solutions within a regulated environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with LES/LIMS, laboratory workflows, system integrations, SQL, and configuration/customization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, configure, and maintain LES/LIMS applications and workflows.
  • Translate laboratory and business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Design and implement laboratory workflows, recipes, procedures, and data capture processes.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database integrations.
  • Integrate LES with LIMS, ERP, MES, instruments, and other enterprise systems.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and perform root-cause analysis.
  • Support validation, testing, UAT, and system releases in regulated environments.
  • Maintain technical documentation, specifications, and system configuration.
  • Collaborate with laboratory scientists, QA, business analysts, and engineering teams.
  • Ensure solutions comply with GxP, FDA, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity requirements where applicable.

Technical Skills

Required Skills:

  • LES/LIMS development and configuration
  • SQL / relational databases
  • Laboratory workflow and execution processes
  • System/API integration
  • Java/.NET or scripting experience
  • Requirements gathering and technical documentation
  • Testing, validation, and production support

Agile/Scrum experience 

Nice-to-have skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with LabWare, Thermo Fisher SampleManager, or similar LIMS/LES platforms
  • Pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences experience
  • Knowledge of GxP, GMP, GLP, FDA, and 21 CFR Part 11
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and cloud technologies.
