At GCI, we solve the hard problems. As a Logistics Manager, a typical day will include the following duties:
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Logistician provides integrated logistics support services to a mission-focused media exploitation technical program. This person is responsible for ensuring the program’s requisite products are ordered, received, packed, shipped, and properly accounted for in a timely manner. Serving as the Responsible Officer for the program, this individual will oversee accountable property, procurement activities, inventory accountability, and shipping operations. A successful Logistician must have outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills, be at ease working in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to adapt to customer-driven requirements. This person should have strong problem-solving skills and be self-motivated.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and execute the direct procurement of program equipment and tools
- Initiate, record, and preserve work order documentation for the acquisition of component items from vendors
- Assemble media exploitation kits
- Research, prepare, and maintain transportation documents
- Maintain accurate inventory of all materials and equipment
- Follow client and company policy procedures for property management
- Serve as the program’s Responsible Officer and maintain accountability for all government and company property assigned to the program
- Other duties and projects as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business or related field, or the equivalent combination of education or work/military experience
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience managing and performing logistics work
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in receipt, accountability, inventory management, and property management of stock supplies, equipment, and spare parts
- Comprehensive knowledge of international shipping requirements, including ITAR and export control requirements
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication and time management skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. minimum
- Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch, and kneel
