Schedule: Full time, evening shift

Minimum Job Requirements:

 

  • High School Diploma or GED Degree or GED (Required)
  • 3 - 4 years experience in a related field (Required)
  • Mechanical / electrical background including familiarity with repair and maintenance tools and terms 
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals


Job Overview:

 

This position works under the direction of the Supervisor and is directly responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the Hospital buildings, facilities and equipment at the "journeyman" level in one of the building trades. Must be familiar with and reasonably proficient in the other trades. Provides direction to helpers/workers assigned to assist with cleaning and maintenance operations. Must be able to work with little or no direct supervision as employee is solely responsible for ascertaining what maintenance or repair is required, determining its priority and responding appropriately. Customer Service orientation is mandatory.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Completes all paperwork associated with work orders on time, including filing incident reports and documenting critical turnover in the Maintenance Redbook.
  • Completes scheduled and unscheduled work orders within established time constraints.
  • Maintains a neat and organized workspace, including mechanical and electrical rooms, and ensures proper parts inventory levels.
  • Maintains a professional appearance and presents professionally in all work areas.
  • Uses proper techniques and required personal protective equipment to perform work safely and efficiently.
  • Applies technical skills to complete all work requests—scheduled and unscheduled—in a professional and thorough manner.
