The Housing Authority’s mission is to be the area’s affordable housing agent of choice to low and moderate-income residents and to assist them in becoming self-sufficient.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
The Maintenance Repairer 1 position is a valuable part of the South Landry Housing Authority because of their function of work to repair and maintain buildings. In addition, perform general maintenance task such as plumbing, carpentry, and electrical.

Position Duties

One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR

Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Other Qualifications

Job Duties:

  • Makes general repairs to buildings (interior and exterior) and other mechanical and related fields such as plumbing, carpentry and electrical  

  • Perform general maintenance tasks such as – repairing leaking faucets and toilets; ceiling, wall and floor repair; repairs to doors and locks; replace broken switches and receptacles; other related maintenance tasks  

  • On-call/Emergency/After-hour maintenance tasks and duties  

  • Other duties as assigned 


Position-Specific Details:

Appointment Type: Probational - up to 24 months 
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.

Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
