Maintenance Associate

Location: Cedar Park, Pflugerville, and surrounding North Austin areas
Schedule: 8am-5pm
Pay Range: $18.00–$20.00 per hour

About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and self-motivated Maintenance Associate to provide repair, maintenance, and upkeep services for residential homes serving individuals in our programs. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, can troubleshoot a variety of maintenance issues, and is comfortable working independently throughout the day.

The Maintenance Associate will travel between multiple residential homes located throughout the Cedar Park to Pflugerville corridor. Candidates must have a reliable truck capable of transporting maintenance supplies, equipment, and materials between locations. Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related travel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep for residential homes.

  • Troubleshoot and repair common household issues, including plumbing, electrical, appliance, and general maintenance concerns.

  • Repair sheetrock, patch walls, and complete painting and touch-up work as needed.

  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, fixture replacements, and drain maintenance.

  • Conduct minor HVAC troubleshooting and maintenance.

  • Repair, maintain, and replace household appliances when appropriate.

  • Complete building inspections and identify maintenance or safety concerns.

  • Address damages and coordinate repairs to maintain safe, functional living environments.

  • Transport tools, supplies, and materials between residential locations.

  • Maintain accurate records of completed work orders and maintenance activities.

  • Assist with basic vehicle-related tasks such as changing a flat tire or replacing a brake light bulb.

  • Prioritize and manage multiple maintenance requests across various homes while meeting deadlines.

  • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high-quality workmanship.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of maintenance, handyman, facilities, construction, or related experience.

  • Must own and maintain a reliable truck suitable for transporting tools, equipment, and materials.

  • Must possess personal tools necessary to perform maintenance duties.

  • Working knowledge of:

    • Sheetrock repair and patching

    • Interior and exterior painting

    • Basic plumbing repairs

    • Basic HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting

    • Appliance repair and maintenance

    • General residential maintenance and repair

  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage a daily workload.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent time management and organizational abilities.

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
