Manager, Banquets (Caesars New Orleans)

•    Manages the execution of banquet functions in conjunction with the convention services Team to ensure delivery of an exceptional customer service experience.
•    Monitors proper staffing levels in order to provide high standards of service.  
•    Monitors appearance of food served and communicates deviations from standard.
•    Responsible for the administration of controls in the banquet area to ensure economical and profitable established standards are maintained.
•    Directly manages the Banquet Beverage Team in conjunction with the Beverage Department.
•    Responsible for the supervision of the Banquet Houseman and for the proper movement and set-up of all equipment needed.
•    Acts as the on-site liaison with the Customer and the Caterer.  Gathers all billing information and presents final end of function bill for payment by the Customer.
•    Administers training programs.
•    Counsels, guides and instructs personnel in the proper performance of their duties.
•    Maintains and instructs assigned personnel on safety policies and procedures and follows up to ensure that hazards are eliminated.
•    Performs assigned input work in compiling annual budgets.
•    Prepares and coordinates the periodic performance reviews of assigned personnel.
•    Acts as a role model to other employees and always presents oneself as a credit to Caesars. 
 

•    College Degree in Hospitality/Business Mgmt.
•    Preferred or equivalent years of industry related experience.  Strong managerial skills.
•    Knowledge of banquet services and sales.  Knowledge of food cost and labor analysis.
•    Ability to train and motivate personnel.  Ability to communicate well among staff both written and verbal.
•    Excellent customer service skills.  Five years experience in food service industry, minimum two years in Banquet/Catering function.
 

Additional Requirements: 

• Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino. 
• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and carry up to 5 pounds. 
• Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working at assigned desk area. 
• Must have a manual dexterity and coordination to operate office equipment, including a 10 key adding machine, PC computers, fax machine and photo copier. 
• Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations. 
• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. 
• Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
