Job Summary:
Leads business development activity. Supports the ongoing strategic planning process. Leads growth initiatives to produce and enhance services, programs, collaborative relationships and demonstrated results to meet the healthcare needs of the community and realize the overall organizational strategy. Manages the business development department’s day to day activity including new business analysis and research as well as market analysis and research. Supervises Business Development staff. Supervises and directs the activities of various levels of assigned personnel using both professional and supervisory discretion and independent judgment
Job Requirements:
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Required
- Master's Degree: Preferred
- Five year's business development experience: Preferred
- Three years' experience in a healthcare setting: Preferred
- One year's leadership experience: Preferred
Essential Functions:
- Prioritizes new business analysis and research projects and delegates as appropriate. Tracks department workload and project queues. Participates in budget planning, development, and oversight.
- Manages new business projects with a focus on ensuring accuracy to plan, follow up, and pass to appropriate operational management. Reviews recent project operations and assists in operational realignment to business plans.
- Presents projects for capital investment at the local and corporate level. Tracks and reports success on approved business development initiatives.
- Coordinates and communicates with business partners, collaborators, and the community in support of new business development projects.
- Exercises independent judgment in supervising and responsibly directing assigned staff. Delegates and assigns work to personnel for effective utilization of their skills and to meet business needs. Recruits and orients new employees. Ensures all employees are sufficiently trained to carry out their duties. Creates an engaging workplace and encourages others to contribute creative and innovative approaches to achieve continuous improvement. Drives a performance culture through appraisals and other coaching. Disciplines personnel when deems appropriate.
