THE IMPACT YOU CAN HAVE:

 

The General Accounting department is seeking a Manager, Fixed Asset Accounting to lead the Company's fixed asset accounting function, providing accounting leadership, financial oversight, governance, and ownership of the fixed asset lifecycle, including capitalization, depreciation, construction-in-progress, impairment, reporting, and compliance with Company accounting policies. This role will lead the fixed asset accounting team and serve as Accounting's functional owner for the fixed asset accounting process, including stewardship of the S/4 HANA fixed asset subledger, capital project accounting, capitalization governance, depreciation, financial reporting, and forecasting.

 

The Manager will partner cross-functionally with Real Estate, Construction, IT, Tax, Accounts Payable, Procurement, FP&A, and other business teams to support accurate fixed asset accounting, financial reporting, internal control compliance, audit requests, and process improvements. This role requires strong fixed asset accounting knowledge, technical accounting judgment, leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced close environment.

 

YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH THESE GOALS BY:

 

  • Lead and develop the fixed asset accounting team, including supervision, coaching, workload management, review of work, and performance feedback.
  • Own the SAP fixed asset subledger and related accounting processes, including construction-in-progress, asset additions, retirements, transfers, disposals, impairments, depreciation, and reconciliation to the general ledger.
  • Own Accounting's oversight of capital project accounting and capitalization activities, including evaluation and approval of capitalization decisions, asset classification, useful lives, impairment considerations, and application of Company capitalization policies in accordance with applicable U.S. GAAP and Company accounting policies.
  • Review and approve monthly fixed asset journal entries, account reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting workpapers, ensuring timely resolution of reconciling items.
  • Lead the preparation, review, and submission of depreciation budgets and forecasts, monitor forecast accuracy, analyze significant variances, and communicate key assumptions and financial impacts to Accounting and Finance leadership.
  • Lead Accounting's fixed asset close activities for period-end, quarter-end, and year-end, including oversight of depreciation processing, review of financial results, flux analysis, variance explanations, and documentation of accounting conclusions.
  • Partner with Real Estate, Construction, IT, Tax, Accounts Payable, Procurement, FP&A, and other business teams to provide accounting guidance, support capital investment decisions, communicate financial impacts, and ensure capital projects are appropriately accounted for throughout the asset lifecycle.
  • Support the Tax department by reviewing fixed asset reporting, reconciling tax book activity, and processing approved changes to fixed asset tax books.
  • Monitor cloud computing arrangements and related implementation costs to ensure proper accounting classification and documentation.
  • Establish and maintain fixed asset accounting policies, procedures, governance, and internal controls to ensure compliance with Company accounting policies and U.S. GAAP, support audit readiness, and promote consistent application of capitalization policies.
  • Lead Accounting's support for internal and external audits by coordinating responses, ensuring timely and accurate documentation, and resolving audit inquiries related to fixed assets.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on fixed asset accounting processes, automation, reporting, internal controls, and financial visibility while leveraging system capabilities to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of recurring and ad hoc fixed asset reporting to ensure accuracy, completeness, business relevance, and management visibility into capital investments.
  • Perform other routine and non-routine accounting, reporting, and analysis responsibilities as assigned.

THE ESSENTIALS FOR SUCCESS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA required.
  • 4–7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both.
  • Fixed asset accounting experience required.
  • Prior supervisory, team or people leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial close processes, account reconciliations, internal controls, and audit support requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret accounting guidance, exercise technical accounting judgment, and communicate accounting conclusions to management and business partners.
  • Experience with S/4 HANA fixed assets or a comparable ERP fixed asset system preferred.

The pay range for this position is $90,800.00 - $123,000.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
