Deaconess Illinois Crossroads is seeking a Nursing Manager to oversee our Medical/Surgical and ICU units. This role is ideal for an experienced RN who thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment and is passionate about leading teams, improving outcomes, and delivering exceptional patient-centered care.
Job Overview:
As Nursing Manager – Med/Surg & ICU, you will provide overall leadership and daily operations for both units. You’ll guide your team in delivering high-quality care, ensure adherence to clinical best practices, and create a safe, efficient environment that supports patients and staff. This role includes staff leadership, budget oversight, quality improvement, and interdisciplinary collaboration to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staff Management: Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff; manage staffing and schedules for both Med/Surg and ICU units.
- Patient Care: Oversee patient care, ensuring adherence to evidence-based protocols across Med/Surg and ICU populations.
- Quality & Safety: Lead quality improvement initiatives, monitor outcomes, and uphold safety standards.
- Resource Management: Manage unit budget, staffing, and supplies; ensure effective resource utilization.
- Collaboration: Partner with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, hospital policies, and safety procedures.
- Patient/Family Support: Provide education and support to patients and families.
Qualifications:
- RN with current Illinois license
- BSN required (or ability to obtain within 3 years of hire)
- 3–5 years nursing experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Required Experience:
- At least five years in a clinical setting, preferably including ICU experience
- Three years previous management experience preferred
Compensation & Incentives:
- Hourly: $36.30–$54.44
- Performance-based bonus potential
