About this role
At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what’s next.
The Role
We are looking for a Security Manager, Talent Events and Live to help shape how Netflix approaches security across our events, both on and off service. This role serves as a strategic security partner to the business, supporting planning discussions, reviewing event delivery models, setting expectations with vendors, and ensuring consistent standards across regions and event types.
The operating model positions event security around strategic planning, quality assurance, and effective oversight, while routine operational delivery is managed by appointed vendors. Through strong governance, clear ownership, and thoughtful vendor management, this role helps protect Netflix’s interests while enabling successful event experiences.
Responsibilities
Work with event leads in each region to develop partner agreements, preferred vendor approaches, and aligned rate structures
Review security plans, risk assessments, and supporting documentation before event delivery is approved
Provide governance, quality assurance, and challenge where vendor plans do not adequately address venue, threat, audience, or reputational risk
Ensure appropriate levels of security planning and implementation for all events, mitigating risks and threats to the Netflix brand and family
Attend site visits and events as needed
Manage incidents on the ground, adapting plans and responding to escalations when needed and appropriate
Liaise directly with PR title teams to understand talent security needs and implement appropriate layers of protection
Act as the escalation bridge between external security vendors and internal stakeholders when there are capability gaps, disagreements, or material concerns
Maintain a consistent explanation of security posture, market landscape, and proportional security recommendations to internal partners
Oversee and direct on-site security for higher-profile/risk events and/or talent activations, understanding the attendees, talent, and associated risks
Talent liaison, understand specific talent requirements and liaise with their own security teams as needed; implement the appropriate rings of protection around talent as they conduct their activities
Act as Netflix's security lead at events and LIVE productions as needed
Scope
The function remains focused on oversight, governance, advisory input, and quality assurance. A well-defined scope of work typically includes objectives, roles, deliverables, approval points, and acceptance criteria.
Strategic participation in event planning
Regional engagement with event leads and internal business partners
Vendor identification, evaluation, and partner agreement development
Review and approval of security plans, risk assessments, and resourcing proposals
Oversight of vendor performance, standards, and compliance with agreed requirements
Escalation management between vendors and internal partners
Post-event review and capture of lessons learned for future planning
Operational oversight and security leadership on site for Netflix events and LIVE as needed
Skills and Capabilities
Ability to operate as a strategic partner across event planning, vendor governance, and risk oversight
Ability to interpret vendor security plans and risk assessments, and identify gaps requiring escalation or challenge
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors, regional event leads, and internal stakeholders
Ability to communicate security posture, market landscape, and proportional recommendations clearly to non-security audiences
Ability to manage escalation and exception situations with sound judgment
Ability to liaise directly with talent and their security representatives, tailoring protective measures accordingly
