About this role

Meta is hiring a Technical Accounting Manager for its Technical Accounting & Policy team. This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can tackle complex, non-routine transactions across a variety of corporate accounting areas, including Infrastructure capex, Leasing, Energy, Partnerships, Stock compensation and Financial Instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate accounting implications for new and unusual transactions
  • Prepare memos and presentations, evaluate multiple viewpoints, and communicate clear conclusions
  • Interpret US GAAP and SEC guidance for financial reporting and internal controls, including during contract structuring
  • Work with international teams to bridge US GAAP to IFRS
  • Partner with SEC reporting teams for disclosure requirements
  • Communicate accounting impacts to various business partners including Legal, Tax, and Finance
  • Monitor and interpret new accounting pronouncements
  • Update Meta accounting policies as needed
  • Facilitate trainings on accounting topics for Meta personnel

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA or equivalent qualification with US GAAP experience
  • 12+ years in Technical Accounting Advisory, Financial Statement Auditing, or similar roles

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Demonstrated skills in researching and documenting new accounting guidance and complex issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Google G Suite, and AI tools
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • 12+ years at a large public accounting firm and with National Office experience
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience in a technical accounting role at a public US company

Compensation

  • $173,000/year - $246,000/year; Country: US; Bonus eligible; Equity eligible
