As a Senior Staff Manufacturing Engineer for the F-35 Lightning II Center Wing Production Engineering team, you will be integral in advancing production efficiency and guiding a pivotal part of the build process. Your expertise in manufacturing engineering will allow you to influence operations beyond floor support, improving processes, enhancing the production system, and mentoring junior engineers to drive continuous improvement.
What You Will Be Doing
• Production Floor Support: Provide on-the-spot assistance to resolve production issues, ensuring uninterrupted product flow.
• Corrective Action Development: Design and implement corrective actions to reduce Scrap, Rework, and Repair (SRR) rates and decrease Hours Per Unit (HPU).
• Manufacturing Plan Updates: Update and improve the Manufacturing Plan to integrate new technologies and reduce defect rates.
• Engineering Change Evaluations: Assess engineering modifications to ensure alignment with production capabilities and efficient implementation.
• Technical Production Support: Offer technical expertise to Production Operations, supporting mechanics and other team members for smooth operation.
• Cost Reduction Initiatives: Lead initiatives focused on product span optimization and cost reduction to enhance profitability.
• Manufacturing Engineering Duties: Execute key tasks such as Tool Trial Runs, Work-Around Plans, and Supplemental Tool Design to support and refine the manufacturing process.

Basic Qualifications
• STEM bachelor’s degree (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, etc.)
• Experience resolving engineering, production, tooling &/or assembly issues.
• Aircraft structural assembly and technical requirements experience
• Experience reading engineering blueprints

Desired skills
• Manufacturing Engineering Experience or Support Roles (IE, QE, MRB) on F-35 Joint Strike Fighter or similar military fighter jets.

Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
• Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and cross functional teams; Production Operations, Quality, Design Engineering, Supply Chain.
• AutoCAD or Catia V5 experience.
• Experience with additive manufacturing (e.g. 3D printing etc.)
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T.
• Ability to work well in a diverse team environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, etc.)

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
