Duties

Execute work orders and blueprints to lay out, build, and finish a variety of concrete forms and structural surfaces to project specification.,Perform masonry repairs by restoring brick, block, stone, and other structural materials to maintain the integrity and appearance of chimneys, fireplaces, walls, statues, and monuments.,Deliver structural work by constructing, altering, and repairing detailed components and assemblies to ensure accurate spacing and proper fitting for all finished structures.,Execute roof restoration by assessing damage and repairing or replacing roofing systems which include asphalt shingles, built-up asphalt, DuraLast, sheet iron, cold-tar pitch, asbestos, and other roofing materials to ensure structural protection.,Install and restore a wide range of specialized door systems by fitting, adjusting, and repairing roll-up, blast, magazine, personnel, sliding glass, closet, cabinet, safe, garage, motorized gate, and track- rolling doors to ensure smooth operation.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Mason (Carpenter) without more than normal supervision. Assist with layout and basic renovation tasks while supporting routine repairs and maintenance of structural and finishing masonry elements. I can assist with laying various types of blocks and the setup of concrete forms and reinforcement; assist with pouring and basic finishing of concrete and apply simple plaster and spray textures to prepared surface. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Includes Blueprint Reading) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Materials Measurement and Layout Physical Effort: Work requires standing, bending, stooping, considerable arm movement, and working in cramped or awkward positions. May lift or carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Receives assistance in carrying heavier items. Working Conditions: Works in a woodworking shop and outdoors. Exposed to a variety of weather conditions while outdoors. When working from ladders, scaffolds and manlifts there is danger of falling. There is also exposure to dust and dirt while mixing mortar and plaster while handling various masonry and plastering materials. Frequently exposed to eye, skin, nose and lung irritation from glue, bonding chemicals, vapors, splinters, and sawdust. Frequently exposed to possible cuts and serious injuries from accidents while using woodworking machines. May be required to work in asbestos contaminated areas. Incumbent must not have any physical restrictions that would prevent the use of required safety equipment, respirators, protective clothing, dust mask, etc.

Continued employment requires written certification that it advances the public interest. Direct deposit of pay is required. This is a Installations Management Career Field position. Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Relocation (Government Home Sale) Expenses are not authorized. This position may require overtime work. This position may require you to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing. Position may be filled as a Term Appointment NTE 1 Year 1 Day. Term appointment may be extended beyond of six (6) years, up to eight (8) years. With DoD approval, Term appointment may be extended beyond eight (8) years.
