The agency is seeking two highly qualified candidates for the position of Medical Assistant 3 within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Nursing & Clinical Services Division.

Position Duties

Under broad supervision, performs administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of the physician on duty. Handles front office duties which include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing and coding for insurance purposes. Assists in the clinic by taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination and drawing blood. May serve as a lead worker.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university with two (2) years experience in a related field; or High School diploma/GED and three (3) years of experience in medical assisting; or Two (2) years of experience required at the lower level Medical Assistant 2 (HCT101) or position equivalent.

Data Utilization: Requires the ability to synthesize, hypothesize, and/or theorize concerning data involving modification of existing policies, strategies, and/or methods to meet unique or unusual conditions. Requires the ability to do so within the context of existing organizational theories and management principles.

Human Interaction: Requires the ability to function in a managerial capacity for a division or organizational unit; includes the ability to make decisions on procedural and technical levels.

Equipment, Machinery, Tools, and Materials Utilization: Requires the ability to operate andcontroltheactionsofequipmentandmachinery,requiringthemonitoring,adjustment,regulation,and/or setting of multiple conditions.

VerbalAptitude:Requirestheabilitytoutilizeawidevarietyofreference,descriptive,advisory,and/or design data and information.

Mathematical Aptitude: Requires the ability to perform moderately complex algebraic and geometric operations; ability to utilize principles of basic probability and statistical inference. 

Functional Reasoning: Requires the ability to apply principles of logical or synthesis functions; deal with concrete and abstract variables; and analyze major problems that require complex planning for interrelated activities that can span one or several work units.

Situational Reasoning: Requires the ability to exercise judgment, decisiveness, and creativity in critical and/or unexpected situations involving moderate risk to the organization.
