This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Greater Greenville Mental Health Center, 124 Mallard St, Greenville, SC 29601.
Under limited supervision will provide outpatient services for individuals and families in treatment with Child and Adolescent Services.Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional I:
Provide direct service in assisting individuals and families in complex decision making, initiation and utilization of appropriate resources for crisis stabilization using individual, family, and group therapy in an outpatient setting.
Maintain documentation of clinical services in accordance with State and Center Quality Assurance standards utilizing Collaborative Concurrent Documentation.
Ensure adherence to OMH Corporate Compliance Policies and Plan and all legal responsibilities and requirements in performing job duties.
All required annual training courses are to be completed within OMH guidelines. Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required.
Network with Foothills Family Resources to develop more specific services and maintain a strong working relationship on behalf of OMH clients.
Ensure that center is “CARF-ready” in areas relevant to job duties.
Position Duties
A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
Additional Requirements:
In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Post hire, employees must:
- Have thorough knowledge of methods, principles and practices of clinical counseling and education services.
- Have extensive knowledge of psychopathology and patient management in psychiatric setting.
- Have the ability to evaluate counselor skills and program needs and to apply counseling theory in a clinical setting.
- Have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines.
