This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) – Office of Mental Health, Spartanburg Area Mental Health Center, 250 Dewey Ave., Spartanburg, SC 29303.

As the Mental Health Professional II, you will lead the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team providing evidence-based services in the intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative service in accordance with the fidelity model. This is a single fixed point of responsibility for treatment, rehabilitation, and support needs for patients with Serious Mental Illness (SMI) who require higher levels of community care and have not been well supported in lower level of care options.

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II:

• Oversee the administrative operations of the team.

• Provide clinical oversight of services ensuring patients are seen in accordance with their needs and the delivery of best ethical practices.

• Provide direct services to ACT service beneficiaries.

• Ensure services to ACT service beneficiaries.

• Ensure services are documented in accordance with OMH/QA requirements.

• Provide direct supervision to ACT team members to include, but not limited to: Facilitating clinical supervision meetings, treatment team meetings, coordinating training for team, and completing evaluations.

• Ensure a department commitment to cultural affairs and ensures all direct reports have a cultural affairs component to his/her planning document as a measurable objective.

• Comply with Corporate Compliance Policy and Risk Management Plan and ensures timely completion of prior authorizations.

• Pursue professional development through collegial consultation, continuing education, and licensure.

Position Duties

• A master's degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service program. Must be licensed as LISW-CP, LPC, or LMFT, as well as have supervisory experience.

• Additional Requirements:
  In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Please be sure to provide specific clinical activities on your application and/or resume.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Other Qualifications

Post hire, employee must:

• Successfully complete the Basic Fundamentals course with a minimum grade of 75.
• Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
• Have knowledge of legal principles and practices, methods, principles and practices and interviewing techniques.
• Be organized, able maintain a caseload and effectively plan, coordinate and manage complex treatment interventions.
• Exhibit cooperation and diplomacy across a variety of settings and situations.
