This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Anderson County Clinic, 1 Linwa Boulevard, Anderson, SC 29621.

As a Mental Health Professional II, coordinate and supervise the AOPMHC Mobile Crisis Program in accordance Mobile Crisis Response Manual – Standard Operating Procedures and Service Provision Guidewithin the three-county catchment area of the Anderson-Oconee-Pickens Mental Health Center.  

Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional II: 

• Coordinate and supervise the AOPMHC Mobile Crisis Program to ensure program standards are met in accordance Mobile Crisis Response Manual – Standard Operating Procedures and Service Provision Guide.

• Responsible for scheduling of program staff during primary workday and after-hours.

• Review and Monitor timesheets.

• Attend agency scheduled Mobile Crisis meetings with BHDD Mobile Crisis personnel.  

• Conduct new Mobile Crisis employee training, weekly staff debriefing, monthly individual supervision, and quarterly trainings. 

• Will observe the Mobile Crisis Team in the field to ensure best practices are being followed.

• Will serve as a back-up team to provide emergency assessments of patients experiencing crisis.

• Assist in scheduling and participating in community outreach by the team. Ensure community partners receive consistent and accurate information regarding the Mobile Crisis Program.

• Comply with all applicable Quality Assurance. Corporate Compliance and Cultural Competence policies, procedures and regulations, and all Federal and State laws as well as attending all trainings classified mandatory by Federal & State regulations.

• Engage in additional trainings to maintain professional development.

Position Duties

• A master’s degree in guidance, counseling, the social sciences or a related field and professional experience in a mental health, human service or social service program.

• Must have two (2) years post-master's degree experience.  

• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure in SC. If unlicensed, must be willing to work towards licensure in SC within six (6) months.

Additional Requirements:

• In order to be credentialed for core services as a Mental Health Professional at the SC Office of Mental Health, applicants must provide evidence of clinical experience providing direct patient care. This experience may be documented as a practicum or internship during graduate program, or post-graduate clinical experience. Please be sure to provide specific clinical activities on your application and/or resume.

• This position requires the ability to bend, stoop, climb, drive from location to location, lift and file.  

• This position could be considered essential.  Therefore, the employee in this position may be asked to report to work even if the Center is closed in the event of an emergency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Other Qualifications

Post hire, employees must have:   

• Practical therapeutic knowledge of principles, methods, counseling practices, and procedures for the diagnosis and treatment of behavioral and mental disorders. 

• Ability to listen and understand and communicate information and ideas so that others will understand. 

• Knowledge of psychopathology, family dynamics, and individual, family and group psychotherapy. 

• Ability to identify and effectively utilize resources available in the community to accomplish objectives. 

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines. Ability to present clear and comprehensive oral and written reports.  

• Ability to supervise direct report employees. 

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families and representatives of other professional disciplines.

• Be able to pass CPR and Managing Agitation in the Psychiatric Setting (MAPS) Certification.
