Metal Wash

Job Summary
The Metal Wash position is essential in maintaining the quality and cleanliness of metal components in a manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for washing, inspecting, and preparing metal parts for further processing. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively within a team.

Responsibilities

• Wash, blast and clean parts and materials before processing.
• Operates various types of blasting equipment
• Treat parts in proper solutions; monitor solution levels and notify supervisor for solution correction.
• Operates abrasive hone machine and parts tumbler.
• Load and unload parts and equipment as instructed.
• Assists other operators with various plating operations as assigned.
• Maintains work area in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
• Performs other duties as requested, necessary or appropriate.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawing.
• Must be able to use temperature and timing gauges.
• Must be able to work with chemical cleaning solvents and acids.
• Must be able to set-up and shut-down tanks, valves, water systems and sandblasting machine.
• Must be able to inspect parts of minor defects while cleaning.
• Must have good written and communication skills.

Requirements:

• Language: ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to verbally communicate effectively.
• Mathematical: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common send understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Comfortable with the physical demands of the role, including the ability to lift 35 pounds
