About this role

The Project Controls Metrics, Reporting, and Technology Analyst will be responsible for analyzing, developing, and implementing reporting, analytics, and technology solutions that enhance project visibility, support data-driven decision-making, and improve the effectiveness of project controls across the GPC Distribution Capital Portfolio. The analyst will work to develop and maintain key performance metrics, dashboards, automated reporting tools, and business intelligence solutions that provide actionable insights for project teams, our customers, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, enhance, deploy, and maintain analytical models, reporting solutions, technology, and/or datasets to enable data-driven decisions across Project Controls

  • Identify opportunities to improve data quality and ensure accuracy, consistency, governance, and standardization of project controls data across reporting platforms

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project teams, customers, and business stakeholders to identify reporting, analytics, and data requirements, deliver actionable business intelligence, and drive adoption of reporting tools, dashboards, and technology solutions that support project and portfolio objectives

  • Provide analytical support across Project Controls functions, including Cost Management, Schedule Management, Risk Management, and Change Management. 

  • Support strategic planning initiatives through data analysis, forecasting, trend identification, and scenario evaluations

  • Conduct ad hoc analyses and special projects to support operational, strategic, and portfolio-level decision-making

 

Education 

  • B.S./B.A. in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field 

 

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, technology solutions, or related functions 

  • Experience developing, tracking, and reporting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, scorecards, and performance dashboards

  • Experience using reporting and data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Power Query, Excel, or similar platforms

  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to identify trends, risks, and opportunities and provide actionable recommendations

  • Experience supporting process improvement initiatives through automation, reporting enhancements, and technology-enabled solutions

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and implement reporting or technology solutions

  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Experience working with Databricks is a plus

  • Coding/programming and analytical proficiency in SQL, Python, and/or R is a plus

  • Experience working with Alteryx or similar workflow management tools is a plus

  • Familiarity with large-scale organizational change efforts

  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and apply problem-solving skills

  • Working experience providing data and ensuring data integrity to support accurate and timely reporting

  • Experience working cross-functionally in a highly matrixed organization

  • Proven ability and determination to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to deliver high quality outcomes

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Working knowledge of JETS estimating software, Oracle Project, Primavera P6, Contruent and SOAR a plus

Other Requirements

  • Successful candidate must be available to support storm duty

  • Must live in/near or be willing to relocate within reasonable distance from work location

  • This position can require some travel – approximately 25% per year
