Job Description
The Mortgage Compliance Specialist supports responsible lending by helping ensure Residential and Consumer Lending activities meet regulatory, internal policy, and risk management expectations. This role reviews loan and servicing activity, monitors key compliance requirements, and prepares reporting that supports leadership, audit, and operational decision-making. QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1 year experience in the mortgage or consumer loan industry is required.
• Must have strong propensity for detail, accuracy and ability to work independently and as a team with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of Mortgage servicing rules relating to bankruptcy, loss mitigation, collection/default, payment processing, escrow administration, is preferred.
• Knowledge of HMDA regulation for mortgages is preferred.
• Knowledge of QC system for servicing and LOS system for consumer lending is preferred.
• Must be able to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Proficient working knowledge of Windows, Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / OBJECTIVES:
• Conduct detailed quality control reviews of FHA and conventional servicing files through the Quality control application.
• Produce monthly reports of the quality control reviews of servicing files and report the findings to management and the audit department.
• Monthly detailed review and reporting to the compliance department of HMDA data points for consumer lending loans.
• Review Loan estimates and closing disclosures on wholesale files to ensure they follow the regulatory requirements under TRID.
