Position Summary: The National Roofing Superintendent is the primary on-site technical authority and safety leader, responsible for the successful execution of commercial roofing projects. This role involves overseeing daily field operations, ensuring technical adherence to system specifications and blueprints, maintaining rigorous safety compliance, and driving crew productivity to meet established quality standards and project milestones. The National Roofing Superintendent is directly responsible for site outcomes, productivity, and overall project performance. This role is instrumental in the overall success of the project and will work directly with many key stakeholders.
The Blueprint for Success - Key Responsibilities:
Project Execution and Technical Oversight

Serve as the on-site technical expert with in-depth knowledge of various commercial roofing systems (e.g., TPO, EPDM, PVC, Modified Bitumen, BUR, Metal).

Read and interpret project documentation, architectural specifications, and blueprints to ensure all work strictly aligns with the defined scope and design.

Manage and oversee the delivery, placement, and staging of all equipment and materials needed for the project.

Coordinate on-site activities, ensuring all tasks are executed according to the approved schedule and plan.

Conduct continuous inspections of work-in-progress to verify adherence to quality standards and manufacturer specifications.

Partner with the Project Manager on scheduling, progress tracking, generating punch lists, and ensuring customer expectations and project milestones are met.

Measure project performance (quality, efficiency, and schedule adherence) utilizing appropriate systems, tools, and techniques.

Proactively seek and implement improved roofing processes and best practices to generate higher workflow optimization and return on investment (ROI).
Safety and Compliance

Enforce strict compliance with all site-specific safety plans, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), OSHA rules, regulations, and company policies.

Conduct regular, documented safety meetings and perform routine inspections of site conditions and equipment to ensure safety standards are met.

Train and monitor crew members on proper safety procedures and the best practices for installing and repairing commercial roofing systems.

Take immediate corrective action to mitigate hazards and maintain a proactive culture of safety on the job site.
Leadership and Stakeholder Management

Provide on-site leadership by supporting and directing crew members to achieve project goals for safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

Supervise field staff performance, conducting informal performance evaluations, and addressing performance issues in collaboration with the Project Manager.

Act as the main communication liaison between the field, the Project Manager, the office, and subcontractors.

Interface directly with customers at project sites to ensure satisfaction, manage expectations, and promptly report and resolve customer complaints.

Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, measurements, and photographic evidence to ensure continuity of workflow and decision-making.

Requirements
Tools for the Job:
Required:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management or three plus years as a Field Supervisor

Roofing and/or construction knowledge
-
Proven experience in supervising field operations

Proficiency in Google, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and project management software

Ability to travel up to 100% of the time
-
The ability to work in different environmental conditions.

Strong leadership and communications skills

Excellent customer service skills
-
Highly trained in conflict management and business negotiation processes

OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification.

Valid Driver's License
Preferred:

Proficient in the safe handling and utilization of ladders

Working knowledge in the commercial roofing and/or construction industry
