As a Fab Support Engineer at Micron Technology, you will play a key role in supporting advanced semiconductor manufacturing by improving equipment reliability, enabling production ramps, and driving continuous improvement across Fab Support systems. This position focuses on tool installation support, troubleshooting, process optimization, cross‑functional collaboration, and leadership of engineering and technician teams to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality fab operations.
Responsibilities
- Support tool installation and ramp activities, coordinating in‑house work and contractor execution.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors to resolve tool issues, improve system reliability, and manage supplier performance.
- Partner with Fab Engineering, R&D, Purchasing, and global counterparts to share best practices and resolve equipment challenges.
- Mentor engineers and technologists, support performance development, and promote strong technical capability within the team.
- Troubleshoot and repair fab support systems including pumps, abatement equipment, chillers, heat exchangers, and liquid delivery systems.
- Develop preventive maintenance schedules, manage spare parts inventory, and support refurbishment activities.
- Drive cost‑reduction initiatives, continuous improvement projects, and equipment upgrades or qualification activities.
- Ensure ESH compliance, maintain accurate maintenance documentation, and manage equipment performance reporting.
Minimum Qualifications
- Technical Skills: Experience in troubleshooting mechanical, thermal, or fluid‑based systems and interpret system performance data.
- Operational Skills: Experience planning or coordinating maintenance activities, documenting work, and improving system reliability.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with either vacuum pumps, chillers, abatement systems, liquid delivery systems, or other hazardous gas treatment technologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, ability to collaborate across teams, and capability to lead tasks through completion while maintaining safety compliance.
- Background mentoring or managing technical staff or leading cross‑functional initiatives.
- Knowledge of semiconductor fab support systems, abatement processes (combustion, wet, dry, plasma), or equipment installation and optimization.
